What do you put in a Halloween punch?
The possibilities are endless! You can start with a base of fruit juice, soda, or even tea, and then garnish with spooky elements like gummy worms, eyeball-shaped ice cubes, or even a floating hand made of ice (more on that later!). Don’t be afraid to get creative and add your own flavorful twist to a traditional punch recipe.
How long before a party should you make punch? Should you make punch ahead of time? Yes! A good rule of thumb is to prep your punch a few hours before your party and store it in the fridge to chill. This will give the flavors time to meld together while it sits. If your punch recipe calls for Prosecco, soda, or other carbonated ingredients, add those at the last minute to ensure they stay fizzy and fresh. Can you put dry ice directly in punch? While the effect of a bubbling cauldron looks impressive, we don’t recommend putting dry ice directly in your serving bowl. Not only is dry ice extremely cold, but it can also be very dangerous if ingested. If you want to add some special effects to your drink while being safe, put the dry ice in a separate container and hide it behind the punch bowl. This way you can set a spooky scene while ensuring the dry ice doesn't come into direct contact with your beverage. Make sure to handle dry ice with gloves and tongs, and never touch it with your bare hands. What is non-alcoholic punch made of?Non-alcoholic punch can be made with a variety of ingredients. The most common base ingredients are fruit juice or soda. You can mix different juices together for a unique flavor (like pineapple juice, orange juice, or cranberry juice), or add sparkling water or ginger ale for fizz. Green tea and black tea are also great ingredients to add depth of flavor to non-alcoholic punch. For harder-to-find flavors, our premium syrups offer an easy way to craft unique, elevated punch recipes. You can also add fresh fruit slices or herbs for an extra pop of flavor.
What garnishes do I use for punch?Speaking of fresh fruit, adding eye-catching, flavorful garnishes can take your punch to the next level. Popular garnishes include fresh citrus wheels, cranberries and other berries, herbs like mint or rosemary, and edible flowers. You could also add in unique Halloween elements like gummy worms, lychee “eyeballs,” or edible glitter for an otherworldly shimmer. Just make sure your garnishes are safe to consume and won't pose a choking hazard to your guests.
How do I make an ice ring?An ice ring is a great way to add flair to your punch presentation and will also keep your beverage cold without diluting it too quickly. To make an ice ring, fill a Bundt pan or other ring-shaped mold about ¾ full of water and sprinkle in desired add-ins, like fresh fruit, herbs, or edible flowers. Freeze the mold until completely solid. Then place the mold under warm, running water for a few seconds to release the ice ring. Add your ice ring to your bowl, and you’ve turned your ordinary punch into a fun, festive centerpiece!
Remember that ice hand we mentioned? Fill a clean, disposable glove with water, tie it closed, and pop it in the freezer. Once it’s solid, cut away the glove to reveal a frozen hand you can float in your Halloween punch!
I already have a Halloween drink I want to make for my party. How do I batch cocktails or mocktails? To batch any drink, you’ll need to do some quick math. First, add 1.25 oz. water to your individual recipe, then simply multiply your recipe specs by how many people will be attending your party. For example, if you’re expecting 12 people, multiply all measurements by 12! It’s that easy. On the day of your party, prep your batch recipe ahead of time and store it in the fridge just like you would punch. Remember to wait and add any carbonated beverages at the last minute.
