Crispy Roasted Brussels Sprouts with Hot Honey

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Monin Monin Honey Organic Sweetener
  • 1 Tbsp. crushed red chili flakes
  • 1 Tbsp. apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp. kosher salt 3 lb. brussels sprouts

Instructions

      1. Preheat oven to 500° F.
      2. In a saucepan, combine the honey sweetener, crushed chili flake, apple cider vinegar and salt and bring to a boil over high heat.
      3. Once boiling reduce the heat to medium-low and cook for 1-2 minutes, or until the mixture has reached 135° F.
      4. Remove from the heat and carefully strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve, then allow to cool to room temperature.
      5. While the honey is cooling, prep the brussels sprouts by trimming the bottoms and removing the outer leaves. Slice them in half, toss them in a bowl with the oil and season to taste with salt.
      6. Place the prepped brussels sprouts on a sheet pan in a single layer and roast in the oven for 8 – 10 minutes, or until they have browned and are slightly tender.
      7. Once cooked, remove the brussels sprouts from the oven and toss with the hot honey. Serve immediately.
